As it always seems to go, 2017 snuck up on us in a flash and with it, design trends came and went. Some of which we were happy to see go, and some we wish stuck around. Either way, 2018 is looking like it will bring us a few new and exciting design trends to work with. We’ve searched high and low to find out what the top design trend specialists are saying we have in store for us in the coming year, and we have to say, we like what we see!

What you can expect to see this coming year:

Quartz is in!

As the number one product on the market right now, of course Quartz is going to make a splash in 2018. Not only is it durable and attractive, but it has incredible finish options available. Who else is excited to see Granite take the back seat for a while?

Be sure to hold the door!

With 2018, we say “goodbye” to the standard builder grade doors of the past and say “hello” to detailed, interesting and sometimes colorful doors.

Brass is back... and it brought rose gold along for the ride.

If you’ve ever been in a posh home, you may have noticed that it was, probably, decked out in chrome and satin. Though they will remain a symbol of class, it’s looking like bronze and rose gold will be running the show for a bit.

Two toned cabinets for the win!

No matter how you mix it up, dark or light, two toned cabinets are in. We’ve been seeing a lot of all white kitchens over the past few years, but that trend seems to be going out the window. Andrea, Owner and Creative Director of Andrea’s Notebook, says two-toned cabinets allow you to “use a bolder color without overwhelming the room.” And, she says, “in some cases, lighter two-toned cabinets work really well too.”

Color me pink...or blue.

As a whole, color will be making a splash in the kitchen and bathroom remodeling industry this upcoming year. But, the color we’ve been seeing the most is blue. According to San Francisco-based interior-designer, architectural color specialist and design writer, Jennifer Ott, “blue hues that remind us of the sea and sky can provide instant relief from life’s many stressors,” which makes it the perfect color to adorn your kitchen and bathroom with. Everything from sinks to faucets to cabinets and ovens... consumers are adding pops of blue throughout.

Subway tile hits the road...

For a while there we held on tight to the idea that subway tile was the answer to all of our wildest design dreams, but 2018 is telling us we may have been wrong. This coming year, texture, color, pattern and unique design will hold our tile hearts. Think, geometric!

Plant life is the best life.

Nothing makes you feel more at peace than nature does, right? Well, 2018 is telling us we need more green! By adding big, bold and beautiful plant life to your bathroom, you create an environment that allows you to re-center and relax.
